I enjoy learning and reading about what it’s like to be a mom of 9 kids, be a writer and a homeschooling mom at the same time, a pastor of a growing church in Tennessee.

*Family man web* is a great site for dads, it’s put together by a homeschooling dad, but really it’s for any dad who wants to learn how to be his best.  I visit it to gain a new perspective, I would encourage other wife’s to do the same. 

Or there is *pinkhairedgirl*, she has a book called, “Dirty Girls”, she is writting about an issue and bringing sin to the light.  Visit her site and find the link to her book.

Then there is the site, *invisible people*, it’s a site to let you know that not all homeless people are strung out on drugs or alcohol, they are just people trying to survive.  I was there once. 

Please visit the site *bring the rain*  goodness, this is a place you can stop by in your PJ’s and feel the tugging on your heart to get on your knees and pray for anything. She is such a Godly women and the story of her sweet baby…your left with sadness but so much hope and love for our LORD that it is overwhelming…

If you have a minute browse through them.  These are great sites to visit. 

I added,   whitehouse.gov/blog  be sure to visit this as well.  Keep up on the happenings at YOUR Presidents office.  We all have that responsibility to do so.  Don’t just stick your head in the sand and hope for the best.  Become a part of it, in any way you can. 

And above all, get on your knees and pray.

And yes, if your asking, I do leave *my crumbs* at the Whitehouse…

I will say I try to only look at Christian blogs.  If I do come across a non-christian blog– well then I just leave.

I have found some amazing blogs out there.  I can tell these are people who are after God’s own heart.  And honestly those are the blogs I want to read and be fed by.

But still I wonder.

Because in the midst of my findings, I can read curse words in a *Christian blog*, or I see a picture of a mom blogger with her family, but the mom is wearing a dress with a neckline that falls WAAAAY to low.  Or a link to a site that has pictures that are not for eyes to see.  I see *Christian* blogs that write posts about TV shows, like “The Bachelor”, this is sooo not the show to watch and then really you are supporting it.  I’ll save the rest of this for a post on it’s own, it’s deserving of it.

I know no one is perfect, but come on people,  draw the line and don’t cross it.

Do you think there are *gray* areas with Jesus?

How can you have a blog that has a scripture all over it.  Prayers for others who are in need.  Prayers for yourself.  Prayers crying out for our country.  How can you have a blog that links to other blogs that are not appropriate.  Then call yourself a *Christian* and a God fearing women who will raise your family to worship the Lord and your house will serve the Lord.

Then you let your 14 year old daughter wear very inappropriate clothes.   What is the example she sees in you?  Or you let your son listen to the wrong music.  Do you let your kids watch,”Spongebob”.  Where is the value in that show?

Be a parent, not their friend.

I won’t name any names or blogs I should say.  Some are Christian music singers–you would be surprised.

And please read my words–I am not condemning anyone.

(Please re-read that last sentence again)

We are all sinners.  I am not preaching from a mountaintop or a high horse.

Just wanting to give you and myself food for thought.

Draw the line.  And pray to not cross it.

Clearly I am on the side of  Jesus, who shows us sinners forgiveness, grace, and mercy.

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10). Sometime after the third or fourth year of homeschooling, I finally gained enough confidence to believe I was capable of teaching my children at home. I could see my children were actually learning, and I was excited to be involved in their day-to-day learning adventure.

Everything was clicking with our curriculum, and we actually seemed to be in a rhythm with our daily routine and homeschooling schedule. But something was missing, or so I thought.

As I gave in to my doubt, depression began to cloud my thinking with “poor me” thoughts like: “No one appreciates you,” “You’re just a mom,” and “Everyone thinks you’re nuts and could care less about what you’re doing!” My self-defeating talk continued and many times was substantiated by attitudes and remarks of those in the community who didn’t approve of homeschooling.

Each day I seemed to take one step forward and two steps backward in recognizing my value as a homeschooling mom. Wasn’t there any reward, recognition, or encouragement for faithfully loving and homeschooling my children? Then, God’s gentle rebuke spoke to my heart one morning during devotions. “Why are you still seeking the world’s approval instead of mine?” He asked.

Ashamed, I wondered how many times I would need to learn the lesson of Colossians 3:23-24: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

Feeling renewed after confessing, I walked into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. There sitting on the counter was a carefully wrapped package from my loving husband and children. Surprised, I opened the gift and found a sparkling, professionally-made plaque engraved in gold. Below my beautifully scripted name read the words, “Mother of the Year-in recognition for selflessly loving your family.” Tears filled my eyes as I hung the trophy on the wall. Satan was wrong! I was valuable to God and to my family, and that was enough.

Father, I praise You for the constant reminder of Your love in Your Word. Teach me to always run to You first when I feel discouraged and to claim Your promises as my strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
