A book written by a homeschool mom.  Packed full of educational material-not just a quick read.

Lovin` this.

The book is about a family who roadschools (I had not heard of this till I looked up their website).  Which means they travel around in their RV and use National Parks and other places to vist as part of their classroom.

In this the 1st book of the series they have class in Arizona to study about rocks.  The story starts off with educational material on Arizona the state–state bird, flower, capital, etc.  The Wright family is in Arizona and they are going to explore a desert cave.  They go on to find an underground cave.  My 9 year old read it and loved it.  I loved it because it wasn’t just a book to read and give mom a report on.  It was an educational book that spured her on to learn more about rocks, caves and bats. She can’t wait to get a hold of the second one.  I can’t either.  I enjoyed it as well.  Might be a great Christmas present!

Oh!  Did I mention there is a glossary of terms in the back of the book?  How cool is that!
